Lengthy and dull title provided a challenge for this cover design, but I managed to incorporate interesting imagery with a clean typographic layout that resulted in an appealing product for its target marketing of JR and High School kids.

These are short stories and baseball related quotes from a Hall of Fame high school baseball coach who also has a son in the Major Leagues. I wanted to create a classic "baseball" look of nostalgia with this to follow the theme of the book.

The Cry

The subtitle of this book included the phrase "To rend the heavens", the term "rend" means, to tear into two or more pieces. This is what gave me the idea to design the cover image and title to look like it has been split into two.

A Day in Hell

Book is about the authors experience of being in hell for one day. So I wanted to play off that concept of being in the darkest place you can be and being brought back into the light, while figuring out a way to do it all in black and white only.
