Chris Webb
Hey, my name is Chris Webb and this is my portfolio. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.F.A. in Visual Communications in 2006. Worked for over 7 years for one of the largest publishing companies in America. I started out as a graphic designer, designing children and adult books and layouts, CD packaging, as well as some web design, promotional materials, and print and online advertisements. Promoted to a Project Manager after that, where I oversaw from concept to production, projects for authors and artists. Art directed 10-15 graphic designers and gave feedback and direction for each project.

    The Cry

The subtitle of this book included the phrase "To rend the heavens", the term "rend" means, to tear into two or more pieces. This is what gave me the idea to design the cover image and title to look like it has been split into two.

    Recovery the Hard Way

This is a novel about a mother addicted to prescription pain killers. I was given the title and synopsis and came up with this concept for the cover that is unique and visually interesting.

    What I Know About Baseball...

These are short stories and baseball related quotes from a Hall of Fame high school baseball coach who also has a son in the Major Leagues. I wanted to create a classic "baseball" look of nostalgia with this to follow the theme of the book.

    Oklahoma Boy

Autobiography of a local author about his life and being born during the depression. I used an actual family photo that was provided by the author to come up with this striking design.

    Do Now

Lengthy and dull title provided a challenge for this cover design, but I managed to incorporate interesting imagery with a clean typographic layout that resulted in an appealing product for its target marketing of JR and High School kids.
